Rump ordered med rare and delivered which is a challenge with that cut of steak. Sauce/Gravy was full of flavour. Salad was really fresh with a delightful dressing. Barramundi was really nice also although maybe bit more sauce would have been nice.
Can't really fault the food. Always delicious when we go. Steak is so tender it just cuts like butter. Can be a little crammed in and noisy at times but that's to be expected being in the Casino.
3.5 stars. Venue: in the casino. The setting is tend to be between casual and fine. Open kitchen. --- 7.5/10 Service: To be seated. Given menus. After a while, a waiter came to take orders at the table. I had to remind him to tap water as he forgot, obviously. Under my observation, some people got tap water when seated. They are not serving food according to the sequence of the orders. Not logical. Seated platter (ordered 10 mins after us) was faster than garlic prawns. Acceptable waiting time for food. But, a seafood platter can be served in 5 minutes and faster than garlic prawns (15 minutes). Give tap water randomly. --- 6.9/10 F&B: Good presentation. Normal portion. Prices are on the high side but acceptable in a casino. - Lamb Rack, $46: served with Potato gratin, broccolini, Shallot red wine jus. Potato Gratin was outstanding. Lamb was cooked medium as I ordered. The Shallot red wine jus was mediocre. --- 7.4/10 - Garlic Prawns, $39: served with lemon rice and butter broccolini. There were 8 well-cooked prawns (normal size) in 2 skewers. Bitter broccolini was good. --- 7.4/10
Although there was a line in front of us, it moved quickly. Service wait staff were friendly and professional. Ordered the rib-eye black Angus with garlic prawns plus a side of mash. Steak was done nicely. Liked it very much.
First time at the restaurant and we were very unsure of what to order, menu with great options. We ordered a Lamb Cutler and a New York steak with the shrimp upgrade on the side. I can't say which was tastier, they were really delicious, tender, super tasty meat and exactly cooked as we asked. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really cool, we could see the chefs preparing the food from afar and each dish was a show in itself. Great service, as is the whole Crown. We arrived at 6pm and there was a long line to get in, we went out for a beer, walked around the casino and when we came back around 7:30pm we were already served first class. I recommend it!
Not sure why low 3* review, possibly the above avg pricing but otherwise satisfying meal and my preferred choice over the Merrywell and Market Co. Tip, skip the skewers. More show than substance. Give this place a try!
I got the lamb chop skewer as seen in photo. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked. The green capsicum is poor man capsicum and shouldn't have been on it but the red capsicum was really nice. Chips were good, came with gravy, salad played it part. Was expecting 4 cutlets as I feel that is a standard order of cutlets but was stoked to see 5. I'm happy I picked here after sussing all options in area. Oh and they let me bring my beer in straight off the casino floor. Big plus.
Much better than I expected after reviews. Lamb skewers were really tender and lovely. Wagyu burger was nice. Service wasn't as bad as reviews just not over the top. Don't buy bottle beers on menu. Walk out to the bar.
